Your future ,
Our moral ambition!
EST. 2022 · ICELAND
SOS World Climate is a clean-planet venture combining reforestation, tokenized carbon credits, sustainable city infrastructure and eco tourism — starting with 143.000 trees in the ground in Northern Iceland.
MISSION 1 COMPLETED :
143.000 trees planted
Birch, larch, pine, spruce and poplar across 12.000.000 m² of land we own in Northern Iceland.
A forest that retains carbon, balances water management, increases soil fertility and provides long-term certified timber benefits.

OUR CONTRIBUTION
Nordic Forest Eco-Project
Nordic Forest Eco-Project
A carbon-positive reforestation on 12.000.000 m² nearby Akureyri — on land we own. Iceland was once a land of forests. We're bringing them back.
Ecosystem restoration
Restoring unique Arctic and sub-Arctic ecosystems — critical for global biodiversity and climate regulation — by planting diverse native species across volcanic Icelandic soils.
Eco-Tourism
The pristine wilderness, glass igloo retreats beneath dancing northern lights, forest spa’s and a sanctuary where guests disconnect from the world and reconnect with nature.
Land ownership
We plant on 12.000.000 m² of land we own — guaranteeing complete control and long-term commitment with no risk of displacement or double-counting.
Financial returns
The forest generates value through appreciating land, certified timber, CO₂ certificates, and tradeable participations — creating sustainable financial returns alongside environmental impact.
Enhanced carbon capture
Iceland's volcanic soils offer extraordinary carbon storage capacity. Our reforestation directly reduces atmospheric CO₂ while retaining water and improving soil fertility for decades.
Biodiversity
We plant a diverse mix of species — birch, larch, pine, spruce, and poplar — creating resilient ecosystems that support wildlife, improve air quality, and contribute to the global water cycle.

OUR PARTNER
Our land, our trees,
your future.
What sets us apart, we own the land where we plant our trees.
Our ownership ensures complete control and long-term commitment to our reforestation efforts.
This allows us to strategically manage and maintain the land, guaranteeing the health and growth of the trees for decades to come.
Our approach not only secures the integrity and sustainability of our projects but also demonstrates our unwavering dedication to restoring nature, enhancing biodiversity, and creating a green, sustainable future.

Details of the reforestation program:
Annual numbers: Around 3 million seedlings are planted each year.
Species: About a third consist of Icelandic birch (the only native tree species). In addition, non-native but better-adapted species are planted, such as Sitka spruce, Siberian larch, and lodgepole pine.
Goal: The project aims to offset CO₂ emissions and grow Iceland's forest cover from the current modest 2% to 10% of the country's total land area.
